After
graduating in Dec. 1996, I began my present job as Assistant
Professor at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Information
Studies. I quickly discovered that my years at the University
of Pittsburgh had given me a good foundation upon which
to proceed. In my teaching and research I need to be well
acquainted with most aspects of information science, and
I require a in-depth knowledge of the literature of archives
and records management. My course work, discussions with
my advisor, Richard Cox, and preparation for the comps
helped me acquire this knowledge. The School of Information
Sciences also gave me many opportunities to collaborate
with others on a number of research opportunities and I
find I am drawing heavily on this experience as I plan
my present research agenda. Moreover, the people I met
during my doctoral work continue to provide me with guidance
and present me with exciting new idea for the future.
